Will Team India do it again

The wealthinsurance series between India and Srilanka has reached its final stage today as the 5th and the final ODI gets underway in Colombo today. Through out the series India had the upper hand by winning the first 4 games and registered their 9th straight win in ODI’s. Almost all the players played their part in these 4 matches except sachin who was adjudged lbw in all the three matches he played was a bit unfortunate. All the three decisions were gone against Sachin. Those decisions could have been given in batsmans’s favour. Anyway hope it will be a learning experience for the three umpires who have given Sachin out.

The wicket of Gautam Gambhir in the 4th game helped Muthiah Muralidharan to overtake Wasim Akram’s 502 ODI wickets and now he become the first ever bowler to lead the most number of wicket table in the both aspects of the game.

Apart from the first ODI, India have won the rest of the three ODI’s by batting first. Srilanka have come closer to the first and the second matches but couldn’t finish the game on a winning note.

With the final match being played in daylight and India to bat second, it would be an interesting contest one should say.

As the Aussies gone 2-0 down against the Kiwis this final match of the wealthinsurance cup will be a great opportunity for Team India to climb to the Number 1 spot in the ICC rankings.

Geoff on FABULOUS 4

FABULOUS 4

Geoff Boycott’s comment on the FAB 4 of the Indian cricket team in the “Telegraph” was a bit hyped and he is unnecessarily writing off the player’s personal life i.e. endorsing advertisements. The ad companies interested in them and the people of India respect them. If they are not at their very best form ultimately the sponsors are going to withdraw the offer as Gillette did to Rahul Dravid. Our players are playing for our country and they know what to do on the field better than this man Geoff Boycott. Of course they are going through a difficult phase of their carrier and they have a point to prove in the upcoming series against Aussies. We will wait and see.

Will Team India Survive

24th September

Its been exactly one year since Team India won the First ever T20 Championship
in South africa against the arch rivals Paksitan without the greats like Sachin, Dravid and Ganguly. Ever since India won this championship India's performance been on the high like the CB Series win in Australia and at times very low like the lost to Pak in the Tri series finals and the lost to Srilanka in the Asia cup finals and again the lost of 3 match test series against Srilanka in Srilanka.

But the real test coming up for Team India in the upcoming 4 match test series against the Aussies at home which starts from the 9th of October.I'm expecting a tough battle...but will India survive? thats the biggg Question!

Praise For Bowlers In IPL

I'm quite Surprised the way the bowlers delivered in the semifinal of the IPL T20 and the bowlers proved that they have the bigger role in deciding matches.

IPL T20 Bowler Friendly!!?

Atlast the BCCI ensure that Bowlers also will be
recognised for their best contribution by wearing
them a Purple Cap for the highest wicket taker as on the playing day.
Initially it was only the BATSMEN been given Orange Cap and felicitated for
the highest run scorer as on the playing day.

IPL T20 Cricket

IPL T20 Cricket to me is more of an Entertainment
than a sport. With the boundaries shortened all the bowlers
are bieng thrashed every corner of the baseball ground (oops,I suppose to say cricket ground).

It takes lots out mentally and physically from the Indian test cricket players.Between matches there are hardly any time
for the players to freshen up as there are matches happening almost every other day unlike EPL which hosts matches in weekends. No wonder why players with great calibre like Michael Clarke, Kevin Pieterson, Andrew Flintoff not shown great interest in IPL T20. England represents only one player that too the hard hitter Adrian Dimitri Mascarenhas. The money been put in to the IPL is enormous with the cheer girls who had been brought in from all around the world (by the BCCI which paid them crores) dancing in the ground almost naked which questions where our country heading towards and raises the eyebrows of many sport loving (NOT ENTERTAINMENT LOVING) Indians for what the cheer girls doing inside a cricket ground. No wonder when the maharashtra assembly condemns the cheer girls and the way they dress up.Despite being covered up after the roar of the members of assembly the girls went on to say that the bollywood girls have been dressing up more vulgar than us(Thats true as well).
With thousands of Indians struggling to get atleast a meal a day outside the ground the money being spend on this IPL to me is nonsense notedly the money being spend for the cheer girls.
On the contrary if at all cricket be made known to other countries through IPL its good for the cricket because cricket has been played only by 9 countries with the test status from the ICC.(This shows how well the other coutries respects cricket)
On the whole I should say IPL T20 is more of an EXTRAVAGANZA than a sport...
